Aug. 25, 2021 — It’s a tragic time for Stones followers. Charlie Watts, drummer for the long-lasting Rolling Stones, handed away Tuesday at a hospital in London. The reason for demise is unknown.

He was 80 years previous.

”It’s with immense disappointment that we announce the demise of our beloved Charlie Watts. He handed away peacefully in a London hospital earlier in the present day surrounded by his household,” his spokesperson mentioned in a statement. “We kindly request that the privateness of his household, band members and shut buddies is revered at this tough time.”

His passing comes earlier than the legendary rock group is about to kick off its “No Filter” tour on Sept. 26 in St. Louis. Watts’s spokesperson put out a statement earlier this month saying that he wouldn’t be becoming a member of the tour after having an unspecified medical procedure.

Watts is survived by bandmates Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Ronnie Wooden.

The drummer, identified for being extra reserved than flashy bandmates like Jagger, is also known as the “spine” of the Rolling Stones and one of many biggest drummers of all time.

Celebrities, together with different rock ’n’ roll icons, are expressing their sympathies on social media.

“So sorry to listen to the very unhappy information of Charlie Watts passing. He was such a pleasant man and a serious affect within the music enterprise — he’ll be sadly missed,” Tony Iommi, lead guitarist for Black Sabbath, tweeted.

Watts was born on June 2, 1941, in London. His musical talents had been evident at an early age, and his old flame was jazz music, CNN reported.

He joined the Rolling Stones in 1963, and the group went onto launch smash hits like “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction,” “Sympathy For The Satan,” and “Paint it Black.”

Watts lived together with his spouse, Shirley Ann Shepherd, in London. The couple married in 1964. That they had one daughter, Seraphina.

Watts, a smoker till the 1980s, was identified with throat cancer in 2004. He’s mentioned to have totally recovered.

Even with the huge success of the Rolling Stones, Watts’s ardour for jazz by no means died.

In between performances with the Rolling Stones, he fashioned the Charlie Watts Orchestra, a 32-piece band, within the 1980s and put out a number of albums with the Charlie Watts Quintet within the 1990s.

For me, it’s usually no more that an hour or so, on medium-low speed. The actual gauge is the look of it- it should resemble real-time news reporting, with no large chunks of filler words remaining.
